Savion Overview
Savion is a voice-oriented, handheld radio communications device, providing groups of users with unlimited mobility and coverage without the need for a fixed infrastructure. By creating an ad-hoc, self-routing mobile network, Savion ensures high quality voice, data and video communications together with simultaneous connectivity to external networks.

Using MaxTech's unique voice-optimized mobile mesh network technology, Savion guarantees the Quality of Service (QoS), resiliency and high capacity required for mission-critical communications in tactical and rescue operations. Its rugged and compact design makes it ideal for soldiers, firefighters and other personnel operating in extreme and unfamiliar field conditions.

Savion is the first solution to offer a dynamic voice and data wireless mesh network at the end unit level (radio device, cell phone/PDA, etc.). MaxTech's breakthrough patent-pending technology enables each Savion device to function as if it were a voice and data router/repeater. This unique capability differentiates Savion from existing unit-level solutions that are either limited to data applications or provide area coverage node-level functionality at the antenna/router level.

As such, Savion creates a powerful multi-hop/multi-user dynamic network that extends coverage till the “last yard” and overcomes the daily issues of infrastructure dependency, blocked transmissions (walls, metal, dead-spots, climate, etc.) and out of range communication.

Benefits

  • Guaranteed communication - 100% service availability, anywhere and anytime, regardless of the physical surroundings
  • Voice-oriented – ensures voice QoS with efficient bandwidth utilization
  • Infrastructure-independent – virtual infrastructure eliminates need for local entity and base station
  • Unhampered mobility – voice as well as broadband data and video communications unaffected by constant movement - including high-speed travel
  • Cost-effective - reduces operational costs
  • Network flexibility - proven to work over any physical layer and bands
  • Maximum resiliency - radios automatically create self-configuring, self-managing, multi-hop network
  • Simultaneous orthogonal communications types on the same network

Features

  • Half-duplex voice calls (Push-to-talk)
  • Call types: Private, group, broadcast and multi-session
  • Configurable priority feature for commander
  • Quality of Service - voice calls given priority over packet data
  • Packet data transfers performed in parallel to voice calls
  • Multiple private data sessions
  • Gateway to external network (TETRA, VHF, TCP/IP, WiMax, WiFi, satellite) via serial link
  • Very low energy consumption
  • Large keypad, easy to use even when wearing gloves
